This was one of the more unusual storms I have ever witnessed. It began as just about any summer thunderstorm does. The initial cumulonimbus towers formed just a few miles to my northeast, and within about 15 or 20 minutes it had grown into a fairly intense storm with a particularly high amount of lightning...

For two consecutive days, Nashville received over half a foot of rain (each day!!!) for a total of nearly 14 inches. On each day, an MCS dropped into the region, but stalled out at almost the exact same location...

I was kinda discouraged initially, as the storms were moving northeast a little too quickly. But thanks to the constant radar updates, I was able to spot a good looking cell, get in position, and let it come to me...

So I was very excited as the storms made their way east towards South Carolina. Around 6PM, supercells started firing in northern GA and headed our way. I watched the radar as they approached. One cell with a very nice hook was headed straight at Anderson...
